G. Iriarte
Verona G. Iriarte, owner, impolo,
inc. of a professional translation service focuses on the
providing expert document translation from French, Spanish and
Portuguese into English.
Academically,
she is a historian who enjoys the research side of digging for
information and facts. She is currently a consultant for the
Reading Across the Curriculum Project sponsored by the Consortium
of Universities in Washington, D.C.
She is a
seasoned researcher, writer, consultant and specialist for projects
focusing on the African Diaspora, International Affairs, Women’s
Studies and Native American issues. Having served as an instructor
here and abroad, she has spanned the wide range of the education
field from grade levels K through the university level, adult and
vocational education. Her skills have given her the
opportunity to travel and work in Africa and the Caribbean and
provide technical assistance on United Nations
projects.
She has given
presentations on women entrepreneurs in the US, the relationship
between blacks and Hispanics and the relationship between Native
Americans and blacks. She holds membership in Black Professionals
in International Affairs, the International Fellows Association and
works with the Constituency for Africa.
As an Executive
Board Member of the Being Human Party, she is the Director of
Research. As a Volunteer for “The Nightwolf Show”, WPFW, 89.3
FM, Washington, D.C., the Pacifica Network, she is the Director of
Research and Development. She holds degrees in History, has
done doctoral work in Political Science and has a Certificate in
International Affairs.
In
1990-1991 she received the International Foundation for Education
and Self-Help Fellowship (IFESH) working in Guinea, West
Africa. She also speaks French and reads Spanish and
Portuguese. She is currently working on books focusing on
Native American issues, international affairs and a children’s
book.
